RUDD, Mickey Louis, 65, doctor, of Sudan passed away, Wednesday January 30, 2008. Survived by wife Jeanie. Services 2 p.m. Sunday, Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, Marble Falls. Burial Wolf Crossing Cemetery, Burnet County.
The Last Butterfly
This Summer was the best but I’ll try and recall all
The rest that went by, because they were special too.
This evening when I came home I sat in my car
Just recalling all that had gone on. The sky was red,
For in the west knowing that summer had been
Put to the test. I rolled up my window as the cold
Wind blew in, knowing it would be months
Before it would end again. The day had been hard,
So I just sat there awhile, relaxing and thinking
And trying to smile . . . . before I got out,
I drifted with my spirit and deep in my mind,
I recalled the summer that had been one of a kind.
This one, I had spent with my children and the joy we
Shared together just for these memories
I would run a mile. Then as I stared out the
Windshield, something caught my eye.
I’ll tell you what it was,
Sometime before I die.
